We have two of the best teachers to come with us to the Himalayas because we found out that students have to bring teachers on school trips so these two will have to do. They are Sophie McDonnell and Simon Pugh-Jones. They are with a Himalayan plant, the Cymbidium erythraeum .

This is Devin who, at school is in charge of Cymbidiums. This is one of the main groups of orchids we will see in Sikkim so he is really excited. Devin is also looking forward to the food as it is quite different than it is in the UK.

This is Ike Shackleton who is determined to follow in the footsteps of the explorer Shackleton. The only difference is that he is going to the Himalayas not the South Pole. This is the Coelogyne stricta which although it doesn’t smell Ike had to check.
