I am Zoe Barnes and I have been with the project for 3 years now. I am in charge orchids with the genus of Prosthecheas, Sophronitis, and Encyclia. I have also been to Durban south Africa to the BGCI conference with the project.

Yes we have an office now, and who doesn’t have a laminar flow cabinet in the corner of their office? we had a really useful meeting with Claire, Richard, Nathan and Laure, to sort out a plan of action for the next 5 months.
Sorry this is a little delayed but we haven’t had any internet. I have been to Rwanda twice before and am looking forward to working with the college students for a longer period of time to develop their understanding of growing orchids from seed and helping them to set up an enterprise.
Heather and I both arrived at KCCEM last night after a long journey. This morning was lovely to wake up and see the beautiful forest again.
This is a picture of our plant display and our propagation lab where we will be running workshops through out the show. We also have an orchid hunt activity and an orchid quiz.
