I am Zoe Barnes and I have been with the project for 3 years now. I am in charge orchids with the genus of Prosthecheas, Sophronitis, and Encyclia. I have also been to Durban south Africa to the BGCI conference with the project.

Over christmas we had a new team join us in Rwanda. My Mum and Dad.
Happy New year from Rwanda, even if it is a little late. We haven’t had very good internet for the past few weeks, however would like to update you on what we have been doing.
Workshops are off to a great start here with us working with a mixture of 1st and 2nd years. Everyone seems enthusiastic and keen to learn new techniques.
Heather and I have been giving lectures over the last few weeks, to all of the students, introducing them to orchids. We have had a good turn out of first year students who are exited to start practical in the lab.
We now have a gas cooker in the lab at KCCEM, and are making our first set of media ready to start practical workshops later this week
