Twenty nine flasks of orchid seedlings are all packed with their phyto and import permits. We are sure that they will receive a warm welcome from students in our partner schools and soon there will be Rwandan school orchid seedlings ready to travel the other way.
Jake is our economics expert and an enthusiast for supporting development in Rwanda. Here he is discussing the in-vitro orchids we are taking with us with our local FERA plant health inspector. The good news is that our plants now have a phytosanitary certificate to go with their import certificate.
Zoe is going to Rwanda as our orchid growing expert. After six years in the orchid project she knows a lot about orchids and has developed a broader knowledge of horticulture by spending two summers at the University of Bristol Botanic Gardens.
