Visiting Kew Micro-prop with Applied Science students

It is wonderful to be able to take students on visits again and last week Applied Science students from Mendip Studio School and Writhlington School spent the day at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The high point was a chance to meet and interview scientist Jonathan Kendon, and learn about his conservation work in the micro-propagation laboratory.

Students learnt about his work with orchid species, bryophytes and mycorrhizal fungi, and will now be applying his techniques in their own investigations back at school.

Thanks again to Jonathan and the team at Kew.
