Stelis cilliolata (pink) – 365 days of orchids – day 1270

This is a species that demands inspection with a magnifying glass. The small pink flowers are surrounded by fluffy little hairs (hence the name). The species comes in a range of colours ands we have two colour forms.

The species is endemic to Ecuador where it is found in wet forests from 1500 to 2400m and we find it straight forward when kept cool and well watered.

We have recently added plants to our shop along with another miniature Pleurothallis stenosepala (below).
