Stelis biserrula – 365 days of orchids – day 1412

A very different Stelis species today. This species is our most vigorous Stelis species that flowers as a small plant but rapidly makes a specimen by developing new growths (keikis) on top of leaves as well as masses of flower spikes.

The flowers on our clone are green and very long lasting for a Stelis and when mature is in flower for much of the year.

It is native to South American cloud forests from 1000-3000m altitude and so is very at home in our Cool Americas Section (min 12C) with lots of water throughout the year.

We have plants available at the shop 🙂
