Pleurothallis tridentata – 365 days of orchids – day 1026

Yesterday we had a miniature cloud forest species and today’s is a little larger growing with 5cm leaves on thin stems but charming miniature yellow flowers produced in pairs throughout the year. This is the first time we have included the species in 365 days.

The species is reported as native to cloud forests from Venezuela to Peru and as a very variable species.  This suggests the name may be applied to more than one species.

We grow the species mounted in deep shade where we keep it well watered throughout the year.
