Orchid Christmas thank yous

A big thank you to everyone who came to Orchid Christmas on Wednesday evening. It poured with rain and was freezing cold outside but the greenhouse was an oasis of warmth and Christmas spirit.

i am proud of you student team who were fantastic – giving tours, selling  plants, providing refreshments and introducing visitors to our propagation lab and methods.

We had record numbers through the door and a very enjoyable evening. Orchid Christmas will happen again in 2018.

Hello again from the garden of England. Although not so much garden these days with all the new roads and housing estates built on the cherry and apple orchards and the hop fields I knew as a child.

I must add to my earlier comment to say how much I enjoyed the mulled wine on that cold, wet and windy evening. It was my first of the season!

I spoke with Lillie, aged two, on skype yesterday and she is still talking about the “inside garden and the two cakes” fom the “cake lady”. She obviously had a very good evening.

Thank for your comment. I am pleased that you and Lilly enjoyed your visit. Two is a great age to get into gardening so wish Lilly well from Father Greenhouse.

I have sent Lillie your good wishes, much to the ammusment of Charlotte, Katherine and Rosie (Ed’s sisters). Lillie looked very pleased to hear from Father Greenhouse.

All my family would like to wish Father Greenhouse and his family a Christmas filled with laughter and happiness.

I’m so sad I couldn’t make it. I’ll have to wait till the conference to come and see the houses! I’m glad it went well
