Enjoying wildlife

I am particularly enjoying seeing for the first time so many different bird species. The good thing is that you don’t have to try hard to spot interesting birds like the ones in the pictures. Aaron and I spent some time today trying to identify the many types of swifts, martins and swallows that were flying at KCCEM. Identifying all of them will be the next challenge!
Wow! Look at those Beautiful birds, I’m very jealous Lucia & Aaron! Keep posting fab pics 🙂
Great pictures! Keep them coming
The wildlife as well as the plant life look fantastic were really looking forward to seeing all the pics when you get back
I’m intrigued by the speckled mousebird, do you know any more about it?
Mousebirds are social and endemic to Africa. Apparently they call each other regularly to ‘keep in touch’.
Perhaps a Baglafecht Weaver (Ploceus baglafecht stuhlmani.
Mousebirds are fun birds. They are birds to cartoons.
Could it be a male lesser masked weaver?

Dear Rayner,
My first impression was to think it’s a lesser masked weaver (Ploceus intermedius)because the eyes are clear, but chin and throat are green-yelow.
In think combination clear eyes, green-yelow throat- chin and black crow is olny compatiple with Ploceus baglafecht. Black in head is different by subespeceis.
Interesting, thanks Manuel. Espero que estés bien!
Muy Bien, Gracias.
Perhaps Lucia can ask a local ornithologist or birdwatcher and clarifies the enigma.
Ugh that’s one dirty Budgie. Hope the trail wasn’t too arduous today.
