School Production

Writhlington School is not just famous for Orchids!  Anyone who came to the Orchid Festival back in September will remember that we have an awesome new theatre.  This theatre is really going to come into it’s own when it’s used in a couple of weeks for the school’s production of My Fair Lady:

We are delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale, and can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 07779061067.

Tickets can also be purchased by students in school time. The Box Office is open in the Student Shop at break times on Monday & Friday and 12:30 – 1:30 on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Tickets are priced at £7.00 for Adults and £5.00 for Concessions (Including Students & OAPs)

As the first whole school musical in seven years, the premiere production of My Fair Lady in Writhlington’s new £4 million Theatre is set to be a huge event. y Fair Lady is a classic rags to riches story about a young flower-girl working on the streets of London and her chance encounter with a professor of Phonetics. The musical is full of memorable tunes and exuberant costumes. Based on George Bernard’s Shaw’s Pygmalion & Gabrial Pascal’s motion picture, the show is loved by many.

With departments all over the school coming together to create what was always going to be a rather adventurous choice for a debut production, the rest of the school wait in anticipation to see the hard work of the past few months come together. Performances will take place on; Wednesday 3rd November at 7:30 Thursday 4th November at 7:30 Friday 5th November at 7:30 Saturday 6th November at 2:30 AND 7:30.
